Because of this, I primarily like to work with people just starting out. I want to help people learn the proper way to work out. This includes planning work outs, setting goals, keeping muscles balanced, and preventing injuries. My focus is on teaching people to be life long active adults who not only know how to lift weights, but lift their own body weight in various functional movements. I have clients with various end goals, such as higher weighted squats or bench press, to running a marathon. But for anyone, I start with core and joint stability, making sure they can even handle their body weight before adding on extra weight. We master good form, proper levels of exercises, and how to plan a good effective workout to meet their goals.

I'm not looking for lifetime clients, but clients that feel confident to work out independently for the rest of their lives.

Personally, I enjoy running, swimming, and circuit style workouts. Normally, I incorporate running into my workout as a circuit with light weights for muscle endurance, with alternating long runs or swims. If weather permits, I try to go outside to work out as much as possible. After being inside teaching, in class, or at my desk, the last thing I want to do is lay down in the gym and lift barbells. I believe in using your own body to push yourself with simple but difficult calisthenics. And being up and moving as much as possible in the fresh air!
